Praise Report from Uganda

  1. FGBMFI:- I am sure this is actually the meat of my mail. It took us a while, but we finally located the Executive Chapter in Kampala. I attended a lunch meeting in one of the 3-star hotels in central Kampala. Not many brethren turned up. I think we were just about 8. The meeting was very good and main testimony came from a young man who was in Ghana the previous week doing some work for the new company who has acquired Westel. From then on I have tried to follow their activities and become more involved. It is rather disappointing that there are only two chapters in the whole of Uganda and both are in Kampala. They hardly meet and when they do, the attendance is rather low. We have pushed one breakfast meeting in May in a five-star hotel. The meeting took place but patronage was very low. We scheduled another meeting for June and I was going to be the main speaker. On the d-day, I was fully dressed and decided to call the President to inform him that I am on my way only for him to alert me that there will not be any meeting because he was unable to organise it due to other commitments on his time. By the way the president is a matured christian and a very successful business man and a strong prison's ministry.
  2. Kabarole (means 'come and see) Chapter:- Because I spend a lot of time in Rwenzori, together with some christian brethren, we have been working on setting up a chapter in the Kabarole district of which Fort Portal is the capital. As a start, we have organised the first ever Rwenzori Business Conference under the auspices  and sponsorship (from me) of FGBMFI. It was well attended and attracted more than 200 participants in the second best hotel in the town. The main speakers were myself and Pastor Peter Ssematimba (very sucessful businessman) one of Uganda's most popular preachers and motivational speakers. We have since launched the FGBMFI in the district. We are currently working on the first breakfast meeting which will take place on either the first or last Saturday of November. Kabarole district is the seat of the Toro Kingdom with very a posing magnificent palace  (financed by Qaddafi) on hills.
The Lord has been good to us and we want to share these goodness with you as our praise report. But more importantly to ask you to continue to pray for us and indeed the entire of Uganda. The church does NOT strike you easily when you get here as compared to Ghana and christian zeal is not that high. The Muslims are gaining grounds because the most prolific Muslim evangelist, Col Qaddafi has adopted this country and doing all he can to convert them. He has financed a monumental mosque in the centre of Kampala on one of the hills and sponsoring the construction of many other across the country.

For now keep us in your prayers. We will try to keep the praise report coming from time to time. Subsequent ones hopefully should be shorter since we have touched on all the information about our life in general.

Share our love with all the brethren and give them our best regards in the name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ - Indeed his banner over us is love.
