THEME FOR 2009

FGBMFI members are hereby informed that the theme for the year 2009 is: THINK, TALK, ACT AND LOVE LIKE JESUS.
The aim of this theme is to “return to the basics”; to instill the life of every FGBMFI member the basic characteristics of the “Christ-like” persona.
Christians have in the recent past slowly drifted into the realm of superficial in their faith, acquiring much knowledge of the scriptures, develop much doctrine, and even daring to perform much work in Him, yet lacking in their private lives, the key characteristics of the one in whom we have believed. Jesus said apart from me you can do nothing (Jn 15:5) he said we are the image and likeness of Him. He said we are the fragrance of Christ, yet do we In our day to day work as Businessmen and professionals actually talk like Him; think like Him; Act like Him; and Love like Him?. If we did, surely we would easily be identified as the salt of the earth, and true lights wherever we go, with or without our FGBMFI pins or other marks of identity. We are losing our appeal; our attractiveness is diminishing.
The world is desperately in need of leaders to inspire, role models who would show rhe way by their thought and deeds. Jesus is our perfect icon, and as He is, so are we in this world. We can learn to talk as he talked; and our speech indeed would forever be sweet. We can learn to think not with the mind of men, but with the mind of Christ which we have. To act as he acted, in even the most challenging situations and to love as he loved, whether enemies or friends. Learning to perfect our love for the Lord and for our nieghbours would surely endear us to His Kingdom in no small measure.
Paul prayed that the Christ will be FUULY formed in the life of the believers. It is the expectation that very fellowship member will truly mature into the fullness of the person of Jesus rather than acquire a concept of Jesus. Our responses to the issues of this world should bear the difference Christ represents.
