Current News NATIONAL PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS
The National Vice Presidents, International Directors, National Directors, Field Representatives, Chapter Presidents, a Beloved in the LORD;
It is with the greatest joy and pleasure that I welcome you to this year’s National General Meeting – AJUMAKO 2009 in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
So be imitators of God, as his dear children.
For we are members of His body, of His flesh,
and of His bones.
Eph. 5:1, 30
“The first call of the kingdom is repentance with its threefold implication.
Renunciation & Reversal
Submission & Teachability
Continual shapeability
There is no birth into the kingdom without hearing the call to salvation, renouncing one’s sin, and turning from sin toward Christ the Saviour.
There is no growth in the kingdom without obedience to Jesus’ commandments and a childlike responsiveness as a disciple of Jesus, yielding to the teaching of God’s Word and
There is no lifelong fruit bearing as a citizen of the kingdom without a willingness to accept the Holy Spirit’s correction and guidance” John 15:16
Our call and growth is for fruit bearing. Let us examine ourselves and resolve to accept to yield ourselves to that process.
For three years running we have not attained our goals. There are two possible reasons for this. Either our goals are too ambitious or we have not committed ourselves to attaining them. In the course of this meeting we need to identify the cause and find a solution. That is the only way we can grow. Let me remind all of us of the International Goals of the Fellowship:
1. Every member bringing two new members (e.g. At least one who
was previously unsaved) into the fellowship each year.
2. a. 20% membership growth per year
b. 20% increase in chapter tithes per year
c. 20% increase in Voice subscriptions
As we provide the needed leadership and continue to inspire and motivate our members to focus on these goals, we will see greater growth.
Our membership growth over the years was as follows:-
Dec. 2005 – 1666
Dec. 2006 - 2202 a growth of 32%
Dec. 2006 – 2202
Dec. 2007 – 2809 a growth of 27%
Dec. 2007 – 2809
Dec. 2008 – 2984 a growth of 6%
We still believe that if all chapters submit correct records on their membership, we will be far above the 3000 mark. 2008 has seen the worst year in reporting.
It is however on record that almost all departments within the fellowship headed by National Directors performed creditably in 2008.
THE THEME FOR 2009
The Theme for 2009 is “Think, Talk, Act and Love like Jesus” Phil. 2:5 A Study guide on the theme is available at the Secretariat
TRAINING
The National Training Team was very professional in their work in 2008 and deserves commendation. In 2009 training which will cover both the Theme and the Fellowship Operations will be mostly at Field Representive’s Zonal Levels. Guidelines will be provided on the theme as well as the areas of Chapter operations to be handled.
OUTREACH
Outreach saw greater activities in 2008; quite a number of outreaches are ready for inauguration in the first quarter of 2009. In 2009 the board will set targets for the Regions to enable us focus better.
Ghana has been tasked to reach out to Guinea this year. Should the political situation in there improve; we will undertake an airlift to Guinea in the third quarter of the year.
RADIO/TV MINISTRY
The Radio ministry has taken off very effectively on Sunny 88.7 FM and is making very good impact. We are hoping to be on the TV by this first half of the year. A Recording Crew will be at this NMG to make more recordings for an effective start. The Radio/TV Ministry is a very expensive ministry, and we will need sponsorship from Brethren if we are to sustain it. Aviation Alliance (Delta Airlines) which sponsored the programme from July to December 2008, deserve commendation. We also need to commend the Director for Public Affairs for all the efforts he put in.
PRAYER
Three new innovations were introduced in 2008 with regards to prayer to enhance the practical approach to the 2008 theme strength through prayer namely:
1. THE PRAYER CALLENDER – to facilitate the praying for our National Officers, the
Nation and ourselves
2. THE PRAYER HOUR –to take just Five(5) Minutes between the hours of 7:00 am and
8:00 am every day to pray for the fellowship.
3. THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING – the idea is to eventually
establish a National Day of Prayer and thanksgiving in Ghana to be initially
observed by the Christian Community, but eventually as a National Programme.
Unfortunately it was only observed in the Western Region (and very well too) and by the Cantonment Chapter. I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate them. Every effort will be made this year to start it at the national Level and in all Regions.
Regular monthly Prayer Bulletins were issued by the Prayer director, and sent to all Chapter Presidents by E-mail. It is the wish of the National Leadership that these Bulletins reach all members.
VOICE
For now all that is necessary to run an effective Voice Ministry– print and distribute Ghana Voice Magazines - are in place. The third edition should have come out in October but for financial constraints, it has delayed. Regional Conventions, Chapters and Individuals owe GHC 4,745.00 to the Voice Department. A limited quantity of the third edition is available at the Secretariat. The Director for Voice will advise us on the sales procedure. It is important that those involve settle these indebtedness early enough for us to print the rest.
COMMINICATION
I wish to congratulate you all for the increase in utilizing the Internet for our communications and appeal to those still lacking behind to backup.
We hope to also improve on our Web Site in 2009. The communication is working on that.
OUR OPERATIONS
During the last National Council Meeting at Foase Kokoben, we took time to look at our operations with the hope of bring innovations and therefore improvement. A committee is currently working on it. When they come out with their findings and recommendations, we will circulate them for further inputs for all levels.
OFFICE ACCOMMODATION
We have moved our offices from the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Kwesi Poku at North Dzowulu to 351/4 Faanofa Street Kokomlemle (Near Joy F/M). We are still in the process of furnishing it. When that is done, we hope to start a lunch hour prayer meetings in the conference hall.

As promised at the last NGM, a new Hyundai Mini Bus was purchased. We thank God for His faithfulness.
